Florida Strategic Plan for Sustaining Military Readiness through Conservation Partnerships Phase 1 (2015-2016) and Phase 2 (2018-2020)

The Florida Conservation Group coordinated efforts to integrate relevant state and regional plans into the Florida Strategic Plan for Sustaining Military Readiness through Conservation Partnerships. This plan built upon existing collaborative efforts between the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, University of Florida, Florida Natural Areas Inventory, the Nature Conservancy, and the National Wildlife Refuge Association to identify conservation opportunities surrounding U.S. Air Force Installations important for maintaining military readiness and protecting focal species habitat and other natural resource priorities. The FCG also recommended policy and program options for land protection around specific Air Force installations and engaged with nongovernmental organizations, government agencies, and private landowners to identify conservation protection opportunities adjacent to Air Force installations.
